The green-gray paint used on this gives an ancient bronze patina-like finish. The deeply patterned texture is on all sides. On the front, there is a smoother rectangle that frames a line of recycled glass fair trade beads from Ghana, The smaller beads have the base of vintage buttons that look as though they are thin slices of wood. They were in an old button box that I used to enjoy sifting through as a child...and apparently still do!
Enjoy the profile. Let your fingers glide over the texture and bumpy beads. No worries, the beads are fastened securely. And the tactile experience is part of the fun.
The Happy Sticks, as we affectionately call them, are easy to hang either vertically as seen here, or horizontally above a sideboard, sofa, or doorway. The acrylic paint continues on all sides so that these can be hung as you would an artifact, with no frame.
