This is such a peaceful color. The recessed niche is painted a bit lighter to give the sense of a glow and shaped with a subtle arch to the top to draw your eye to the miniature stack of black rocks at the very top. The remainder of the niche is filled with a few very rounded small stones, several intriguing recycled glass, fair trade beads from Ghana, and stacks of very thin picture frame glass that has been cut into random small squares and tumbled until the edges are rounded, thin, and frosted a delicate blue-green. The few that survive that tumbling add the emotion of the very vulnerable next to the implied strength of the stones. Yin and Yang.
This particular Happy Stick, featuring a tiny cairn of black pebbles on top of the stack of glass and stones, is designed to hang vertically as seen here. The acrylic paint continues on all sides so that it can be hung as you would an artifact, with no frame.
Lightweight (6 pounds) and easy to hang flush against the wall.
6 feet long x 2.5 inches wide x 2.5 inches deep.
