This deeply textured piece has been painted a dark gray, with dry brushed highlights of a luminous lighter paint. The inside of the recessed rectangle is painted a deep blue, with only a bit actually showing because the space is so thoroughly filled with a pattern of stones and recycled glass, fair trade beads from Ghana.

The Happy Sticks, as we affectionately call them, are easy to hang either vertically as seen here, or horizontally above a sideboard, sofa, or doorway. The acrylic paint continues on all sides so that these can be hung as you would an artifact, with no frame. 

Lightweight (6 pounds) and easy to hang flush against the wall.
